The Settings screen in the Fabrication Pane provides access to configuration options that control how fabricated content is generated, displayed, and managed within the Smart Page. This screen consolidates all key fabrication settings into a single, organized pop-up interface, giving users more space and a clearer structure for adjusting configuration details.
Accessing the Settings Screen #
The Settings screen can be accessed directly from the main Fabrication Pane by selecting the Settings icon. When opened, it appears as a pop-up (modal) window that overlays the Fabrication Pane.
Unlike previous versions, several settings that were previously displayed directly within the main Fabrication Pane are now located in this pop-up to provide additional room and improve readability.
Overview of Tabs #
The Settings screen includes three tabs, each focusing on a specific group of configuration options:
- Data Settings – Provides controls for configuring how data is mapped, retrieved, and displayed. These options were formerly located on the main Fabrication Pane and have now been moved into this screen to provide additional working space.
- Display Settings – Controls the visual presentation and formatting of fabricated content. These settings were previously located within the “Advanced Settings” screen and are now accessible as a dedicated tab for easier access.
- Advanced Settings – Contains specialized configuration options for more complex fabrication scenarios. This tab replaces the previous standalone “Advanced Settings” window and is now fully integrated within the unified Settings interface.
Saving and Closing the Settings Screen #
Users can save their configuration changes by selecting Save in the lower-right corner of the screen. This action applies the updates and returns the user to the main Fabrication Pane.
To discard any changes, users can click the X in the upper-right corner of the screen. Simply clicking outside the pop-up window does not close the Settings screen.
Reopening the Settings Screen #
If the user navigates away from PowerPoint (PPTX) to another application while the Settings screen is open, the window may not automatically return to focus. In this case, the Settings screen can be reopened or brought back into view using one of the following Windows methods:
- Task View Button: Select the Task View icon (two overlapping squares) on the taskbar, or press Windows key + Tab to display all open windows.
- Keyboard Shortcut: Press Alt + Tab to cycle through all open applications until the Settings window is visible.
- Virtual Desktops: If multiple virtual desktops are in use, switch between them in Task View to locate the Settings window.
