The Assette Library provides users with a curated collection of approved and reusable content such as Smart Pages and Smart Docs. To customize or work with this content in your own workspace, you can create a personal copy within My Workspace. This article describes how to copy content from the Assette Library and outlines key behavior and troubleshooting tips.
How to Copy Content to My Workspace #
To copy content from the Assette Library to My Workspace, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Assette Library: Locate the approved content you wish to copy (e.g., a Smart Page).
- Access the Action Menu: Click the ellipses icon (
...
) next to the content. - Initiate Copy: Select the option “Copy to My Workspace” from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm the Action: A confirmation dialog will appear. Review the prompt and click to confirm the copy.
Once the action is confirmed:
- A copy of the selected content will be created in My Workspace.
- You will see a popup notification in the top right corner indicating the success of the copy operation.
- If you already have a browser tab with My Workspace open, refresh the tab to view the new content.
Important Behavior and Permissions #
- Only Approved Library Content: Users can copy only approved content from the Library. Content cannot be copied directly from the Smart Pages or Smart Docs screens—even if the content is published.
- Single Copy Limitation: You cannot copy the same item multiple times. Attempting to do so will result in an error.
Common Errors and Troubleshooting #
If the copy operation fails, users may see an error message or experience no changes. Follow these steps to resolve common issues:
- Ensure you are online: Connectivity issues can prevent the copy from completing.
- Verify you are signed in: Session timeouts or sign-out events can interrupt the operation.
- Check permissions: You must have the necessary permissions to copy content from the Library.
- Ensure content is not already copied: If a copy with the same name already exists in My Workspace, the following message will appear:
Copy Failed! Content with the same name already exists. Name: {contentName
}.
