Assette allows users to copy approved content from the Assette Library not only into their personal My Workspace, but also into specific Workrooms. This enables teams to collaborate on pre-approved templates and content within shared workspaces. This article explains how to copy content into a Workroom and what to expect during the process.
How to Copy Content to a Workroom #
To copy content from the Assette Library into a Workroom:
- Open the Assette Library: Locate the piece of approved content you wish to copy, such as a Smart Page or Smart Doc.
- Open the Action Menu: Click the ellipses icon (
...
) next to the desired content. - Select Copy to Workroom: From the dropdown options, choose “Copy to Workroom”.
- Choose a Workroom: A dialog box will prompt you to select a Workroom from a list of those to which you have access.
- Confirm the Copy: After selecting the target Workroom, confirm the action to initiate the copy.
Once confirmed:
- The content will be duplicated into the chosen Workroom.
- You will receive a popup notification in the top right corner indicating the success of the operation.
- If the Workroom was already open in a browser tab, you may need to refresh it to see the newly copied content.
Key Permissions and Limitations #
- Approved Library Content Only: Users can only copy content that has been published and approved in the Assette Library. Content from the Smart Pages or Smart Docs screens, even if published, cannot be copied directly into a Workroom.
- Workroom Access Required: The user must have appropriate permissions to the selected Workroom in order to copy content into it.
Handling Errors #
If the content fails to copy, one of the following common issues may be the cause:
- Offline or Session Timeout: Ensure your internet connection is stable and that you are signed in to Assette.
- Insufficient Permissions: You must have access to both the Library content and the target Workroom.
- Duplicate Content: If the same content has already been copied into the selected Workroom, you may receive the following message:
Copy Failed! Content with the same name already exists. Name: {contentName}
