This article discusses Limitations, a subsection of Content Classifications. For more information on how to manage Content Classifications, see the article on the Attribute Master. Limitations should not be confused with Permission Groups.
Limitations within Assette can be used to limit content’s usage within the context of other Assette Content (i.e., Data Blocks, Data Objects, Smart Shells, Smart Pages, and Smart Docs).
Limitations, at their core, are constraints that can be applied to certain attributes to prevent the incorrect use of content outside its intended scope. These are particularly useful when content needs to adhere to specific guidelines or restrictions. Limitations ensure that when content is tagged with a particular attribute, it cannot be used in a context that violates that restriction.
To assign a Limitation, begin by selecting the Advanced Action icon located on the right-hand side of the desired content and select “Content Classification”— the Content Classification menu will appear, allowing for the management of content classification.

From the Content Classification screen, users can access Buckets, Limitations, and Data Ingredients. For a more detailed look at Content Classification, see Attribute Master Overview.
