Filename patterns are a key part of managing and organizing uploaded content in Assette. They ensure that files are correctly classified and associated with the appropriate content types during the upload process. To maintain consistency and reduce confusion, the Content Type Manager UI only lists filename patterns that explicitly include a ‘ContentType’ value. This helps users see only the patterns that directly support proper content categorization.
Filename patterns follow a structured format, such as those shown below, where each segment carries meaning for processing the file. Patterns that omit a ‘ContentType’ value are not shown in the Content Type Manager. This keeps the UI focused and ensures users are not presented with irrelevant or unsupported patterns during content uploads.

If a client requests a specific filename pattern that does not include a ‘ContentType’ value, Assette’s internal team will create the pattern with a default content type assigned. When users interact with the content, the system will automatically populate the available patterns, including the default pattern, allowing clients to maintain flexibility in their filename conventions while ensuring that Assette’s platform can still process the files accurately.
