An Assette Sync Data Block is a specialized subset of Data Blocks which facilitates the integration and synchronization of data into Assette backend via a System Data Block. A Sync Data Block may be any category of Data Block, though in general, Sync Data Blocks are Transform Data Blocks.
Although Sync Data Blocks may be edited by developers and any other user which Data Block Developer role assigned, it is advised to minimize edits to the Sync Data Block as much as possible, and instead to edit the “Source” data block (e.g., edit the Extract Accounts Details Data Block instead of editing the Account Master Sync Data Block directly). It is also important to note that editing the meta data, columns, or data output types of a Sync Data Block may cause the Data Block to not function as intended.
