The Data Object “KeyError” occurs when there is a mismatch between the Data Object’s Data settings and the Data Block’s Request Parameter. This issue is resolved by correcting the mismatched name— usually that of the Data Object’s Data Setting.
Error Message: #
Data Block responded with error(s): [BlockName: {DataBlockName}, Error: Script Error: line1, KeyError: {RequestParameterName}]
Resolution: #
Update the Data Setting Name to match the corresponding Request Parameter, including capitalization and whitespace. Shown below, the Data Object Data Setting has been incorrectly set up as “Holding Period” instead of “holding_period”.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps #
- Save any work you wish to keep and refresh the browser.
- If the Data Block has recently been updated, press “Update” on the Request Parameter tab of the Metadata screen of the Data Block Editor and ensure that the Data Block has been saved and published.

- Verify that the Request Parameter and the Data Object Data Setting Name match exactly, including capitalization and whitespace.
