This is the foundation. It’s where you connect Assette to your data sources, and if needed, prepare or transform it on-the-fly. There is no storing data in Assette. There is no data duplication. You connect directly to your firm’s data sources whether Snowflake, providers such as State Street Alpha and BNY Data Vault or databases like SQL Server and MongoDB. You can also interface with any API.
Don’t have a data platform or database? Upload files to Assette and stream data directly from your files.
No matter what approach you take (or multiple approaches), there is no data duplication. You are not forced to load into a vendor’s data model.
If your data needs preparation, Assette use Python or SQL in Assette to clean and transform.
Authors also enter qualitative information—such as bios, strategy descriptions and boilerplate language about the firm—here.
- Data Blocks connect and stream data from your source systems. Optionally, this is where you build reusable business logic and calculations.
- Data Objects sit on top of Data Blocks. This is where your business analysts shape the data into reusable, labeled, marketer-friendly formats—ready for charts, tables, or narrative outputs and even AI agents. No code needed.
