The Sections view within the Component Analytics dashboard in Assette provides a detailed and categorized summary of all sections used in content creation across your organization. Sections are fundamental components of templates, acting as reusable content blocks that help streamline the assembly of client-ready materials. Monitoring sections enables teams to maintain consistency, identify content reuse opportunities, and ensure structural alignment across different types of documents.

Accessing the Sections Dashboard #
To access the Sections view:
- Navigate to the top menu and select Analytics → Components.
- Within the Component Analytics dashboard, locate the Sections card.
This feature is accessible to all users and provides a centralized view of section components used throughout the platform.
Section Composition and Metrics #
The Sections card in the dashboard presents the total number of section components and a breakdown by section type. These include:
- Smart Pages: These are sections built for Smart Docs and support dynamic content and formatting. Smart Pages are further categorized by output format:
- PowerPoint
- Word
- Excel
- Web Sections: Designed for web-based documents, these sections support interactive and responsive layouts.
- Commentary Sections: Focused on narrative content, these sections typically house commentary or insights and are used in both Smart and Web documents.
Each card also displays the following metadata:
- The most recently created section, along with the creation date.
- The most recently edited section, along with the last modified date.
By hovering over the date, users can see the editor’s name and the exact timestamp for greater traceability.
This detailed information helps users identify how and when sections have been modified, facilitating version control and content governance.
Viewing Section Dependencies #
To identify where a section is used, refer to X-Ray. X-Ray provides complete traceability for all content components in Assette, showing how sections are integrated into other documents and templates. To do this, simply click on the X-Ray icon on the right-hand side of the screen, next to the desired component.
