This article focuses on creating a performance history chart, specifically a column chart. The chart will feature three series: Portfolio Gross, Portfolio Net, and Index 1. The categories will correspond to the number of periods being displayed, in this case, seven. To begin, insert a column chart into the desired location.

Upon insertion, a small Excel-like box will appear, allowing the user to add series and categories. Use this box to define the chart’s structure by entering placeholder values for the series and categories. Since the actual data will be displayed at generation time, the values entered here are flexible and can represent any structure required for the chart.

Once the structure is set, select “Fabricate and Edit” from the Assette Menu. This will open the Smart Chart Editor on the right-hand side. In this editor, link the chart to a data object by selecting the appropriate bucket and data object from the dropdown menus.

The editor will automatically detect the series and categories. The user can refine the data by adjusting the order of the series and ensuring the categories align with the desired periods. This step ensures the chart reflects the intended performance data.

To define the appropriate categories for the chart, the user must update the “Categories” field by entering the desired number of categories and clicking the “Update” button. This ensures that the table reflects the correct number of categories needed for the chart. Once updated, the user can proceed to select and define the specific categories for the chart within the corresponding fields.

If the default values in the data object do not meet expectations, modify the data settings as needed.

Review the chart to ensure all details are accurate and aligned with the desired output. Finally, commit the changes to complete the process.
