Data Ingredients are a component of Content Classifications alongside Limitations, Labels, and Compliance Tags. They provide a structured way to categorize and manage different types of data used within the system. By tagging content with specific Data Ingredients, users can easily identify and assess the type(s) of data present in an item.

Applicability and Inheritance #
Data Ingredients are specifically applicable to Data Blocks. However, they are inherited throughout the content stack. This means that if a Smart Doc uses a Data Block tagged with a specific Data Ingredient, such as “Performance,” that ingredient will automatically appear in the “Data Ingredient” section of the Smart Doc. This inheritance mechanism allows users to quickly understand the nature of the data contained within an item, improving efficiency and content discovery.
Managing Data Ingredients #
New Data Ingredients can be created and managed in the Admin Center by following these steps:
- Open the Admin Center from the Assette Menu at the top of the screen.
- Navigate to Classification Master.
- Select Data Ingredients.
- Add, edit, or delete Data Ingredients as required.
Default Data Ingredients #
To streamline the user experience, Assette provides a set of recommended Data Ingredients by default for all tenants. These can be modified based on organizational needs.
