# Editing an RFP Answer

The RFP Module in Assette enables users to review and revise answers directly within uploaded or existing RFP and DDQ documents. The built-in editor is designed for collaborative and structured response management, including features for formatting, version control, and change tracking. ## Prerequisites

To edit an answer in the RFP Module:

- Your organization must have the **RFP Module** enabled.
- You must have uploaded an RFP or selected one already stored in the **RFP & DDQs** section under the **Content Hub**.

## Steps to Edit an Answer

1. **Open the RFP Document**
Navigate to the **Content Hub**, then select **RFP & DDQs**. From the list of documents, locate the RFP you wish to modify.
2. **Enter Edit Mode**
On the RFP card, click the **three-dot menu (···)** and choose **“Edit Answers”**. This opens the RFP & DDQ Editor view.
3. **Select the Question to Edit**
Questions can be accessed in two ways:
   - Click on a question displayed in the **center pane** of the editor.
   - Use the **navigation panel on the right** to browse and select the question.
4. **Edit the Answer**
Once selected, the question will automatically **lock** to prevent other users from editing it simultaneously. In the answer text field, you may edit directly using the built-in rich text editor. The editor includes the following capabilities:
   - **Save Options**:
     - *Save*: Saves current changes
     - *Save & Close*: Saves changes and exits the question view
   - **Editing Controls**:
     - *Undo (Ctrl+Z)* and *Redo (Ctrl+Y)*
     - *View Revision History*: Save current revision, open revision history, compare past edits
   - **Collaboration Tools**:
     - *Comment*: Add comments to selected text
     - *Track Changes* (enabled by default):
       - Accept all or selected suggestions
       - Discard all or selected suggestions
       - Preview final content
   - **Text Formatting**:
     - Bold, Italics, Underline
     - Font, Font Size, and Font Color (with color picker and custom options)
     - Style selection (e.g., Paragraph, Heading 1–3)
     - Bullet and Numbered Lists (disc, circle, square, and full list property control)
     - Multi-level list support
     - Indentation (increase and decrease)
     - Highlight text
     - Insert Quote
     - Insert Checklist
   - **Content Enhancements**:
     - Insert Table
     - Insert Hyperlink (with optional auto-download behavior)
5. **Review or Finalize Edits**
   After making the necessary changes:
   - You may choose to continue editing other questions.
   - Use **Save & Close** to commit and exit the current answer field.
The document’s revision history ensures that all previous edits can be reviewed, and tracked changes allow for transparency in collaborative environments.

## Additional Features

- **Auto-Locking**: The question locks for the user currently editing, preventing others from overriding the entry.
- **Source Attribution**: Contributors are tracked, and sources can be added for compliance or reference.
- **Answer Status**: Visual indicators signal whether a question has been edited, answered, or remains incomplete.
