# Deleting Smart Shells

At times, keeping your content library organized means removing outdated or unused [Smart Shells](https://learn.assette.com/docs/smart-shells-overview/). The deletion process in Assette is simple and ensures that only relevant content remains accessible.

To delete a Smart Shell, from the Authoring tools, select the "Smart Shells" tab, and locate the desired Smart Shell. Click the advanced actions icon (three dots) on the right, then select “Delete” from the drop-down menu. Confirm the deletion when prompted to finalize the process.

The user roles **Brand Owner**, **Brand Author**, **Template Owner**, and **Template Author** have permission to delete Smart Shells.
